To Start: Chain in a multiple of four. (I chained 16 for a more narrow scarf.)
Row 1: Shell stitch in 4th ch from the hook; *Sk next 3 sts, shell st in the next st*; Repeat * to end of row.
Row 2: Ch 3, turn; *Shell st in ch 1 sp of shell*, Repeat * to end of row.
Rows 3+: Repeat row 2 to desired length.
Fasten off & weave in ends.
