Tree Body
Color A using G Hook
To Start: Ch 3, Sc in second ch from the hook & in next st. (2)
Row 1: Ch 1, turn; 2 hdc in first st & in next st. (4)
Row 2: Ch 1, turn; Hdc in each st across. (4)
Row 3: Ch 1, turn; 2 hdc in first st; hdc in next 2 sts; 2 hdc in last st. (6)
Row 4: Ch 1, turn; Hdc in each st across. (6)
Row 5: Ch 1, turn; 2 hdc in first st; hdc in next 4 sts; 2 hdc in last st. (8)
Row 6: Ch 1, turn; Hdc in each st across. (8)
Row 7: Ch 1, turn; 2 hdc in first st; hdc in next 6 sts; 2 hdc in last st. (10)
Row 8: Ch 1, turn; Hdc in each st across. (10)

Do not fasten off. Turn work on its side and begin putting a sc in each st around the perimeter of the body of the tree, putting 2 sc in each corner st. Once you have worked around to your first sc, put a sl st in that first sc. Fasten off& weave in ends.
Tree Trunk
Color B using E Hook
To Start: Insert hook into fifth st of either side of the base (long end) of the tree body, pull through your yarn. You’ll have one loop on your hook.
Row 1: Ch 1 then sc into the same st. Sc in next 4 sts.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn; Hdc in each st across.
Rows 3-8: Repeat Row 2. (You can always adjust the number of rows to your liking.)
Fasten off & weave in ends.
Hanging Loop
Color A using E Hook
Chain 40; Join in first ch with a sl st to make a circle.
Attach to the back of tree body using tail of yarn.
Decorate with buttons, beads, or scrap yarn. I just happened to have some super cute Christmas buttons on hand.
